Hat Yai City. Wandering the Streets.

My last day and I was so lazy to get up. I needed more sleep. Tired. I decided to cancel my last itinerary which is the Tone Nga Chang Falls. I woke up late. Got ready and wandered the streets. Explored the city.

Hat Yai City. A Trek in Hat Yai Municipal Park.

Hat Yai Park or Hat Yai Municipal Park is a huge compound consisting of an ice dome, big lagoon, planetarium, cable car connecting the two hills and temples. Standing Buddha complex occupied one of the hills. This park is very much visited on weekend as locals spend their weekend to chill, relax and enjoy their free days. For tourists, this park should be in your itinerary.

Hat Yai City. Arriving the City and A Visit to Wat Hat Yai Nai.

After my morning dip in Samila Beach and watched the sunrise, I went back to the hotel, took my breakfast, packed up and checked out. I hired a tuktuk right outside the hotel to send me to the bus terminal. I was heading to Hat Yai City. I paid 20 baht to the tuktuk. The driver dropped me in a small public market and told me to wait for the bus. I got worried as I was expecting for a bus terminal until a tout asked me where to go. I told him I am heading to Hat Yai. He told to wait. I was really hoping he would inform me once the right bus would arrive and yes he did. It was difficult to determine the right bus because all the signage are in Thai alphabet. I took the ordinary bus. The bus crew issued me the bus ticket and asked my fare. It was only 20 baht. Pretty cheap for a 35-km ride.

Samila Beach in Songkhla, Thailand. My Morning Dip.

It was my first swimming in a foreign beach. It was early in the morning after I watched the magnificent sunrise. I got the chance to pose at the mermaid statue as well. I strolled the beach the day beforeĀ  but it was very difficult to pose with the famous statue during peak hours due to the numerous tourists visiting the place. So I decided and conditioned myself to wake up early in the morning to watch the sunset, do the morning dip and pose with the mermaid. According to the locals’ belief, touching the bronze statue especially the breast will bring you luck. Hhhmmm. Optimized-_MG_3444 Continue reading Samila Beach in Songkhla, Thailand. My Morning Dip.

Songkhla City. Strolling Samila Beach.

From Tang Kuan Hilltop, I went down to Samila Beach. It is a public beach known for the mermaid statue. There are restaurants and stalls for you to buy foods, refreshments and souvenirs. It was weekend when I visited. Families, lovers, strolled at the beach and enjoy their moments.
