Redang Escapade. A Birthday Blast with Nature.

It was my birthday again and instead of going on solo backpacking, I decided to go with my friends and enjoy the lavish beauty of nature. I should have done the Vietnam solo backpacking (Hanoi – Hue – Hoi An – Danang and Ho Chi Minh) but for budget reason, I cancelled it.

Redang Island (Pulau Redang in Bahasa) is the biggest island of Redang archipelago which is 45 km off coast of the state of Terengganu. The island is known for its very clear crystal water, white sandy beaches and the snorkeling and scuba diving adventures._MG_0880

We took the east bound bus from KL to Kuala Terengganu at Hentian Bus Terminal near PWTC. To reach the terminal from KL Sentral, take the Kelana Jaya LRT line bound for Gombak and alight at Masjid Jamek station then interchange to Putra LRT line bound for Sentur Timul and alight at PWTC station. Just follow the foot bridge where the end part is the bus terminal. The bus took around 6 hours travelling to our destination Kuala Terengganu Bus Terminal.

We actually booked a 3 days 2 nights snorkeling tour at Redang Beach Resort. The tour guide picked us up at 5 am and dropped us in their headquarter. We took a power nap and by 8 am they brought us to the jetty terminal. We left the city around 10 am and arrived in the island by 12 noon. Quite hungry already especially that a buffet lunch is waiting for us.

Beds, AC, shower, toilet, foods were okay. The area was not crowded not like Phuket, Krabi or Boracay. Though never been to the latter two.

We arrived the island safe and sound bringing us all what we need and leaving all those headaches and pains. We need to celebrate with nature. Shout, jump, pose, smile, swim, breathe. Sit back and relax.
